What inspired this collection?
"I’ve had the idea of a bold bezel gold surround for quite some time and was waiting for the right collection to bring this to life. I designed all of the prototypes in 14k yellow gold and the warm tones surrounding the stones instantly evoked the feeling of sunlight, which ultimately led to naming The Soleil Collection."

You’ve always had a love for antique stones—how do lab-created diamonds fit into that vision?
"This collection marks Marrow’s first with lab-created diamonds. While this material is new to us, lab-created diamonds have been in the market for years, and it feels like the perfect time to meet our clients’ requests. My passion has always been sourcing and repurposing antique diamonds, and that will remain at the heart of Marrow. Still, I’m thrilled to offer another sustainable and meaningful option for our clients. What’s exciting about working with lab created diamonds for the first time, is the permission they gave me to play with bigger statement looks and designs. It likely would have been cost prohibitive for us to create the new Lisse Tennis Necklace, for example, in natural diamonds. I think there is still a lot of room in the lab diamond space to bring in thoughtful design that feels both luxe and bespoke and that feels exciting."
What was it like collaborating with Sammi Jefcoate on such a personal piece?
"I loved collaborating with Sammi on her engagement ring. Designing with Sammi always feels effortless…I knew she wanted to create a jaw-dropping engagement ring one day, and when I was in the early design phases for The Soleil Collection, she was the first person who came to mind. I presented three engagement ring designs, and without hesitation, she knew the [now] Florence was the one. The bold yellow gold bezel surround and claw prongs feel inherently “Sammi”, and I love that she named the piece Florence as a nod to her Nonna—as many of my pieces and designs tie back to the women in my family, too. Beyond her incredible sense of personal style, Sammi is a beautiful soul, which makes collaborating such a joy. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about her.
What was your favorite piece to design and why?
"I don’t know if I can choose just one!? I love the Florence ring from the collaboration with Sammi. It feels like a refreshed and bolder version of our Georgia ring which has been our most popular engagement ring setting for the past five years.
I also have wanted a collar necklace since the late 90s and never found one that I loved. They’re finicky and need to sit at the perfect spot on your décolletage. After several prototypes, we found for the Odette Collar that the addition of a chain allows for the wearer to size it to fall at the perfect spot. I love wearing this piece with a tank and a blazer."
Which Soleil Collection piece are you most excited to add to your jewelry box?
"When I was in Tucson earlier this year at the gem show, I found a carved onyx piece with a gold lion inlay from the small German town of Idan-Oberstein. This little town is famous for its magnificent carved pieces and the lion is significant to me because Tim and August (my husband and younger daughter) are Leos. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it but as this collection came together, I decided to set the onyx in a Florence setting and have been wearing it as a pointer finger piece. I absolutely love the weight and finger coverage it offers!"
What do you hope others feel or experience when wearing this collection?
"Jewelry is so personal and means so many different things to each individual. For me, jewelry can act as a marker in time and represent a moment in my life or a feeling. There are a lot of stories tied to my personal collection which makes it incredibly meaningful. Sometimes, clients have told me that Marrow pieces are great conversation starters which always makes me so happy to hear. These pieces definitely feel like they could fall into that category?!"
